to a cat out bodies are like warm blankets and its a sign of affection, they want to be close to you. My cats always curled up beside me or slept right at my head on my pillows.

The cat is using you as a heating pad, at that point. Don't confuse that as love.

I'm not completely sure but I enjoy it, its comforting to me to feel the warm bodies of my furry lil friends snuggled up and purring softly. I can only imagine its comforting to them . . .

they like the sound of the heart beat and or rummble of the intestines, it reminds them of thier baby days, and thier mother, most animals like to sleep there, it is a comfort thing

You are warm and they can also hear your heart beat, which comforts them. Its also a sign of trust from your cat to you.
