Free-to-air television commonly runs on UHF and VHF radiowave frequency. These radiowaves tend to be line-of-sight (which is why they are transmitted from giant towers) and can be blocked by large/dense items. Your best way to improve reception is to increase your "gain" by having your antennae on the roof of your house. You can buy commercial antannae for pretty cheap (about US$150, but in other countries for much cheaper). If you can't afford that, then run copper antennae wire up the side of your walls inside your house to improve your signal gain. That should cost about $3.

plug it in and turn on thr power.or you could get an outside aerial and mount on you roof-you have to point it in the general direction of the tv station tranmittors then adjust from there.
PS if you make up an extension with a piece of gal.pipe and mount the antenna on that so its up high you'll get better reception boosters dont work unless the aerials right in the first place.if your handy and you look around for the bits and pieces you may be able to do it for about $20 or less.$50 max
