Don't they realize that they sound more alike when they insist that their version of the holy book is the 'True Word of God/Allah' ?
When they attack each other in the name of religion aren't they just carrying on the sibling rivalry of Isaac and Ishmael?

I agree. As an atheist in this world of increasing religious hatred and intollerance, I feel scared. It's like the african proverb "when elephants fight, it's the grass that gets trampled."

Because there is only one God, despite of the religion. different mental images and explanations of the God but eventually the same idea.

well ,there are similarities between them but also there are differences , one of them is that we (muslims i mean) , believe in one god , with no parteners or sons or anyone , and the similarities are due to they were descended from god ,but the quran is the only divine book that hasn't been changed since it was reveled since 1400, unlike the others , they are just now (sorry to say) ,just human hand writting, the original ones are not present now.

Yes, that is it exactly...there are so many similarities that is probrably why Muslim men can marry Chrisitan women(I am Christian woman married to Muslim man)...it is working....have been married 4 1/2 yrs

God is short for good..thats why some people say thank goodness or thank god cause they are one and the same.What is good to some people isn't so great to others.So add it up....
