my gf thinks she's fat so she has been on this diet but she likes to drink alot. I think my gf is the most beautiful girl ever and i'm happy w/ the way she is and i've told her that many, many times. Her mom told her that "drinking will not help her if she wants to lose weight". She was upset by this and told me what her mom had told her and i responed that i agreed w/ what her mom had told her. I do not think she's fat or w/e she thinks she is but she took it as if i was tellin her that she was fat b/c she drank. Now she said that she has lost interest in me b/c of that even tho we've been dating for 10 months.

never a good idea to comment on a girl's weight, but, the fact is that the mom told the truth, and you just agreed, not that she was fat, but that drinking can add weight. If your girl lost interest it might be because of her drinking and not your comment?

I think how you said it might have triggered that response from her. Girls that are tryin to lose weight are already changin alot of their food habits, maybe drinkin is the one thing she doesnt wanna let go. But to let weight get in the way of a realationship and love is stupid. Just show her how happy u are with her. Assure her u love the way she is and that you dont care how much she weighs u still wanna be wit her.

The girl has psychological problems that have nothing to do with her drinking or her weight. Well, in a way they do: doesn't have psychological problems because of her weight and drinking; she has weight and drinking problems because she has psychological problems.
Weight issues, drinking problems, and breaking off relationships over trivial matters are all symptoms of her self-destructive behavior. She needs counseling for her self-destructive behavior, and she needs to be in counseling for the long run. These are NOT quick-fix solutions.

sounds like she is pretty hurt. sometimes issues will blow things out of context. you made a statment and your girl responded acording to her extent of her issue. i am sure she will get over it and if she doesnt then maybe she just wasnt that interested in you and used this as a scape goat. if that ends up being the case then just let her go. beauty and all.
