Yep! Holding hands is a nice way to connect- it can be casual or intimate, showy or sly (like underneath the table). Holding hands is comforting and reassuring- remember holding hands to cross the street as a kid? It's easy to do and appropriate in most situations... driving a car with a manual transmission and attending certain religious services are the only places where you probably shouldn't.
In short, girls like it for a lot of reasons, so go for it!

Depends on who's doing the asking!! If she is your girlfriend you should know how far you can take it..If you have held hands previously than just take her hand I'm sure she won't mind! As for if girls like it some yes and some like for a guy to take charge(in a nice way)

That's a sweet, romantic gesture. Girls love it, especially if it's with the boy they love or care about. These are the simple, little things that girls crave for that sometimes men ignore. Included too are short notes, flowers, etc. These would show how the boy feels and how thoughtful he is. May your tribe increase.

yes that is very polite of you to ask. and yes some girls like it when you just do it and hold there hand too but that is the safest way to do it is to ask first GOOD FOR YOU. keep up the good work.

depends if you like the guy or not.
i had one boyfriend...way too much of a hold-hander...but i wasn't that into him which maybe why it bothered me.
on the other hand, if i was totally into the guy, i loved it when he held my hand...whether he asked first or just did it.
