I'm adopted and know my fathers name, how do I go about contacting him?

I've searched the internet thoroughly and can not find anything. My father was denounced from my mothers family and my mom later, within a year, married my dad I've always known, and had everything changed on my birth certificate.

My mom told me on my 16th bday I was adopted, 2-3 years later my dad wrote me a note talking about my real dad.

What do I do? Is there a way I can just find his pictures to see how similar I look, and learn about that side of my family and their potential health problems?

Of course you can look for some clues over at the Birth Registry centre. I don't what do you guys called for the registry centre that registers newly born babies' names. Go there and seek help! Since you've yout dad's name, why not try to post FREE advertisements online and photocopy a stack of info and paste them on the streets or lamposts. Hope someone knows and can help you.

If he was dead, I could find him but other than that, you should try to find out where he last lived, city and what have you and start checking phone directories. You can also find sites on the net just for children and parents who were separated. It is worth a try. I found my birth family including 8 other brothers and sisters when I was 16. I had to jump on a Greyhound and go all the way across the USA to find them, but I did. It is funny, I just wanted to know who I looked like Good luck on your search.

I was adopted by older friends of my real mothers, i never had contact of any kind with her after the adoption( i was 1 yr old) i knew her name so i just happened to type it in one day in our state criminal records site and she had gotten a speeding ticket within the last five years. It gave her current address(1 state over) so i called info for that city and there was only one listing for that name..it was her.

what you need 2 do is search the internet again search anywhere you can think of look for his brothers or sisters and maybe you can get your help I looked for my dad for 8 years before searching my uncles name and a week later had my dad calling me, worth a try?

If i were you, i wouldn't even bother to look for my real parents. Cos it was my ADOPTED parents who look after me when i am sick and tuck me in bed when i'm going to sleep. When you stay with your adopted parents for long, you will tend to look like them. I know cos i'm adopted too and that was 27yrs ago....
