he is sending me mixed signals, ie. hitting on me when he's drunk. He never used to do it before I indicated any interest in him. What should I do?

Do nothing -- he has maded his decision, and do not comply with any of his advances when he has been drinking because the only head that works when a man has alcohol in him is not the one between his shoulders.. He knows that your available so when he's drunk he'll have a sure thing and in the morning be able to say he was drunk to his friends instead of taking responsibility for his actions..

Don't pay attention to signals he sends when he is drunk or on the rebound or you may get used as a temporary comfort for his situation.

I would say the truth usually comes out when a person is drunk. I would ask him in a non drinking environment where hopefully as adults something could be worked out. I think he has developed feelings for you and that he is too scared to tell you because you are great friends. In time, he will let out his feelings.

what do you mean "he has indicated"? you mean he said it to you, or you picked it up from his actions?

maybe he has this super-ego thing going on, so he hits on you because you're paying attention to him. if you're really confused, go ahead and ask why he's sending you mixed signals when he said that he doesn't feel the same. that's what i'd do...

Beer goggles, or drunk bootie calls are not the basis for a good relationship.
TALK TO HIM!!!
IF he stutters even the slightest bit, then you need to move along, and maintain a friendship, as opposed to a relationship.

He doesn't sound like a good friend prospect, and I find that men and women don't make good friends. It's not in our anatomy as their is an attraction with someone some where. It sounds like it resides w/you and he is flattered (like anyone would be) but you must discount his hits when he's intoxicated as he is not totally coherent (intoxicated to some extent) and he is just responding to what is stored in the subconscious part of his mind, not his heart. You just boosted his ego in short and he is reacting. Forget him as any prospective catch and find a man who can tell you he feels the same as you when not intoxicated.

He is hitting on you when he's drunk. Don't beleive him when he's drunk. If when he is sober he say's he is not interested BELEIVE him, getting involved with someone when they are drunk isn't going to make for a great relationship.

Find out for sure what's going on between the two of you, when you're sober and level headed. You need to know the truth.

I would talk to him, preferibly sober. Ask him straight out and tell him you want 100% honesty.
