I don't think anyone belives they are not allowed to pray.

Teachers and schools just cannot promote any religion over another. That is for our protection, as Christians even.

Would you want your child being taught be a teacher who believed something that you didn't? Like what if a teacher was teaching your child witchcraft or paganism?

Hosea 4:6 Tells us that the people of God are destroyed all the day long for lack of knowledge.Once again the Bible is true. They can pray and even pass out Bibles if they so choose. They can even have a Christmas program.

Because they don't correctly understand the meaning of church and state. It simply mean that people employeed by the state shouldn't show their faith while working so nothing is bais. But people who aren't employed by the state can. U can pray in school. I did it before test all the time.

Because there is a Federal law prohibiting it in public schools. Every once in a while a politician talks about changing the law but it's highly unlikely....it never gets anywhere. If prayer is allowed in the public schools it is in violation of the law.

The law.....

There was a thing that came out in the 70s which they found violated the "church and state" policy......

so prayer in school was eliminated.... In the days when i was in school... prayer followed the pledge...... but, they took that out.... Now, there is only the pledge.....

Now, they want to take the "in god we trust" off of the dollar.....

Doesn't bother me..... I often wonder what "god" they talked about anyway......

They took prayer out because it upset other student's faith... and those who were "faithless"...... I mean a buddhist praying to Jesus?.... Or a universalist praying a faith their parents did not teach them?..... no!... it violated others faith....

Because most schools don't allow prayer as part of somebody's misguided idea of seperation of Church and State. Schools have been sued over allowing prayer. Oddly enough there can be a religious extracuricular group that prays outside of school hours.

Because it's so much FUN to be persecuted! This way they can feel put-upon and that they suffer for their lord.

It would be interesting to see how much they liked prayer when it was fairly handled. The muslims getting to pray to mecca in their schools. The satanists meeting on the lawn at lunch.

Oh, "freedom of religion in schools" only means "freedom for baptists". Silly me!

In public schools they do not have prayers that are played aloud over a PA or instructed by a teacher because it is a PUBLIC school. All people of all religions/beliefs, or lack there of, go to public school.

They can. They just want the teachers to be able to mandate it on everyone, and when they see that they can't do that, they interpret that as meaning they can't pray in schools.
