He needs to take the meds prescribed for him. The side effects he read only happened to a handful of people, and there are millions taking Seroquel. I have taken it for 3 years, and I have not had problems. Really, it is one of the better meds. If he can tolerate pills and weed, I think he can handle a prescription. If he is concerned about his health he will leave the street drugs alone and take the prescription meds. He's making excuses.

Seroquel is a great medicine for mental patiences, I know a lady who takes it and you cannot believe how much it keeps her stable, every med has side effects, but which is worse? I have never saw any side effects in her and she was taking over twenty pills a day now only seroquel at night, it helps her sleep and I can see a very different person, it's been three years now. by the way it is my daughter, and I can see the daughter whom I had before..this medicine is used for different things, just keep a check and watch out for side effects, good luck!!

My hubby had a bad reaction to it. It was bad enough he had to be hospitalized. I would talk to the doctor before he gets on it. See if there is another medication or alternative. Talk to your hubby about it as well. If he takes the medication and notices any side effects talk to your doctor before anything happens. People vary when it comes to medicaitons. I hope this helps.
