It doesn't matter how you tell him. Now would he be flirting with you?.... Sometimes it just feels good to flirt. It may be that you are boosting his ego. Or maybe he's really into you. Age doesn't matter. Your old enough to know what you are getting into. Just keep in mind you are likely in different places in your lives.
Ask him out casually and see what he says.

I asked a similar question. I am 13 years older than a young man who is interested in me. He is 21 and I am 35. I received some very nice answers from people. Most said go with what makes you happy. Most were very supportive. What have you got to lose? If you don't find out, you will always wonder. Best to you both.

While 13 years can be a considerable difference, Your current ages need to be considered as well. You did not mention either one of your ages. If either of you are not yet 18 (assuming that being the age of consent where you are), Then the whole situation is a no no. If you are both 'of age', proceed with caution.

Age doesn't matter... it matters on how experienced you are in life.. simply we experience by aging.. That doesn't mean and 18 yr old can get together with a 6... But if you're over 21 and he's 35.. I say that's fine..

Since you guys are both of over the age of 18 its okay because my parents when they first met there was an 18 year difference. which is alot more than most people, but dont worry just go for it.

As long as you are both over the age of 18 then go for it.

if you are of legal age, and you aren't hurting anyone, then go for your life. in the long run, there are bigger issues in relationships than an age difference...
as for the approach, just go with what you are comfortable with. once you get over that "men are a bit thick" stuff, he'll get the idea...

Age is just a number. It's the maturity level that counts.
