I want to get a tattoo of the kanji symbol for strength. However, I want to be sure it's correct. I realize the symbol varies depending on the meaning. I want the symbol to represent inner strength. Not physical or masculine.

There's something important to clarify.
Chikara 力 is mostly used to refer to "strenght (in general)" but all of its meanings are: strength, energy, force, might; nerve, courage; emphasis, stress; efficacy, effectiveness; assistance, support; ability, faculty.

Meanwhile 強さ (tsuyosa) stands mostly for physical strength. Meanings are: strength, power, quality of being strong, might.

So you should choose chikara, its more adequate for the kind of "strength" you are seeking, and anyways its a more recognizable kanji.

The more recognizable one would be "chikara" 力 When I think of strength, it's what comes to mind.

I think 忍 is a better word for you. It means patience and has a positive connotation. It is sometimes used for the name both girls and boys.
