There are alot! Sleeping to much can effect your health in many ways. Breaking your sleep up isn't good for your health either!

Someone who consistently gets too much sleep may have hypersomnia. The body needs the right amount of sleep, food, water, daylight, exercise, etc in order to function properly and if you are having too much sleep, then you're obviously missing out on some of these, which can lead to other illnesses. Like insomnia, it can cause your body to get out of balance. Do you notice that if you oversleep, you often wake up feeling groggy with a headache? That's due to your body dehydrating. Other side effects of hypersomnia include decreased concentration, anxiety, and memory loss.

There are many symptoms: fatigue, memory loss, weight gain, sometimes depression are only a few of them.

I think the worst though is missing out on life and those you love and who love you.

Gaining weight, becoming dependent on extra sleep, wasting your day away, being groggy or grumpy the rest of the day.

even though you get plenty of sleep, it never seems like its enough. u get lazy, and your mind isn't as sharp. try to only sleep 7-8 a night. maybe this website can tell you more about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypersomnia

You feel dopey and slugish, like you haven't slept at all. Lack of energy and ambition. It's always best to go to bed and get up at the same time everyday, even on weekends and vacations, to maintain a healthy level of energy.

You will get insomnia and feel terrible. Always set your alarm and get up a bit early to always have a slight sleep deficit.

Over sleeping can lead to heart problems in the future. Poor cognitive abilities/memory, etc.

The muscles atrophy, and you can get bed sores. The joints do not get properly lubricated, and start to click. Back problems.
Depression. Lack of motivation (part of laziness).
And more.
