I dated a guy and we were very close friends but ended up getting into relationships with different people. Then those relationships dissolved and we were there for each other and slowly our feelings became more serious. However, his ex just so happens to have been a very close friend of mine. I felt weird about that although I dated him first. Anyway, we spent a lot of time together after our relationships ended but we both had baggage. Eventually it got to be too much and I cut him off. However, I really did and still do sort of have feelings for him. We've kissed but after my last relationship I was afraid of getting hurt again so I cut him off after an argument about me being too detached. His mother and I are very close and I miss him and to make matters worse we attend the same church. I feel like giving him another chance. Should I leave it alone or start over? BTW he asked me to let him know if I ever changed my mind.

Think about the reason you broke up in the first place. iF THOSE REASONS are resolvable, then you might try again. But if not, run away before your heart gets hurt again. Also, why did your friend break up with him? That might give you a clue to tell if this guy the relationship material you want.

I say go for it. Tell him how you feel. If he feels the same start anew. As for baggage most adults have it. It comes with being an adult. You also need to realize that you can't judge him or any relationship that you two have together by your previous experiences. This would be unfair to both of you and be damaging to YOUR relationship together. Remember everyone is different and just because boyfriend A acted a certain way doesn't mean that other men will.

Depends on if your both on the same track, are you looking for the same kind of relationship? Did you both get the baggage "thing" under control? If so and you really care for each other you should give it one more shot, otherwise, leave it alone.

Does he make you happy? If he does, then why are you depriving yourself of that happiness?

But if you'll choose to pursue a relationship with him, make sure that your unnecessary baggages are left behind. Carrying all those weight will surely wear you and your relationship with him down.
