You have two choices - a religion where the preacher is a sinner; or no religion at all. You can be baptized by a sinner, or not be baptized at all. You can be married by a sinner, or not married at all. the Church isn't a club for saints. It's a hospital for sinners.

Dump both the guy and the religion. If u believe in the religion, then follow it independently, on your own. I dont think u need a preacher to believe in God. These preacher the world over have created havoc for their own selfish ends, whether they are mullahs, Brahmins or priests in the Vatican/christian churches. I did not believe in God earler(I am hindu, so I did not visit any temple), then I got involved with spirituality, I started meditating, and hey presto, after some time, the clouds starting sending signals.

If you know he is a hyporcrite and still preaching, he is doing it out of habit, not from the Lord, get another church where you have a christian preacher, although God can use anybody to bring his word across, but you must have lost your confidence in him as a preacher, I don't know the circumstances of this, but if you have any clout in the church bring him before the church and let the congregation decide if they need a new preacher,....God Bless and good luck, you have a problem that needs addressed .

I follow the religion, not the person. When a preacher makes a mistake it makes headlines but when some other members of society make a mistake you hear little about it.Ever heard of a banker or accountant that cheats ($$ wise)? Ever heard of a person being overcharged, ripped off, misrepresentation?? Not that it makes it right but to error is human. HUMAN..Not God.

Technically we're all hypocrites. We all know the difference between right and wrong, yet we still make mistakes. The 'hypocrite' you refer to, probably wants you and others to know about Jesus. And you'll never find a man without sin to tell you. It'll always be a sinner, because we all are sinners.

So sad to hear all these answers and comments.

I agree with some ppl who answered before me.

Follow God, not ppl who preach. Sad to say, and I fully agree with those of you who are so put off by Christians and the church because of the blatant hypocrisy.

We are so imperfect. Christians are imperfect too. Tht's why I like the t-shirt with the logo "ghnfwmy" (God has not finished with me yet)

I'm sure there are true followers around. But then again....

The choice is yours.

The imperfect trying to be prefect.

You see this in Paul's letters. Jesus ask to make disciples of all nations, not to make disciples of the one who preaches. It is Christ that you follow.

If you learn the religion, then you will find how to deal with people who fail. See John 8:3-8.

That hypocrite has no bearing on whether you go to hell or not. Your spiritual journey is between God and you. Learn about the religion for yourself and don't do as the hypocrite does....learn from their mistakes as we all sin and we are not perfect. Remember that, when you stumble and you will.

Jesus instructed the Jews do do what the Pharisees and chief priest taught, because they sat in the chair of Moses, and possessed the God given authority to teach.

He also instructed the people not to do what the Pharisees and chief priest did, because they were most certainly corrupt hypocrites.

Look to God himself, not a human. Humanity is clearly very small, insignificant, selfish, ungodly, perverted, etc.

We are here on earth not to find fault with each other. Even the lowliest person is important to God. Follow, as in a relationship with God, not like an army.
