Just ask. Get her talking about her interests, hobbies, short-term goals. When she says something, listen actively and ask follow-up questions.
If you give a girl a good question that she has to think about, she'll do plenty of talking. If you ask her more questions that show you're listening, you'll be impressing her AND letting her gab. Unless you screw up royally with where you will be taking her and how you handle yourself, you'll get a 2nd date.
Now obviously, for this strategy to work, you can't do something like a movie (bad move on first date anyway). Do something where there will be an opportunity to talk.

awe you sound cute. ; ) lol. Anyway, at dinner star asking how (depending on age) how school or work is going. If you have a person in common that you both hate it is somewhat fun to make fun of them through dinner. That will lead to light-hearted humor. Work the charm that had her agreeing to the date in the first place. Don't get nervous. Just remember she is just as nervous as you are, and she is only a girl. Not that much of a differance. Hope it goes well!

Yeah, start out with the basic questions. What she likes, dislikes, what she does for a living, that type of crap.
Then move on to the good questions, How much she weights, how old she is, if she puts out on the first date ( then you will know rather or not to kiss her at the end of the date.) How many people she's been with in the past..
All the good sh*t....Good Luck Man!
With a plan like this, Your going to SCORE!

A good thing is to ask them some of their likes and dislikes. It gets the conversation going and it is nice to know what things you may have in common.
You can also talk about things you enjoy or feel passionate about, family, sports, hobbies, and interests are all good things to talk about.
Remember to listen to her interests and react to what she is saying. Humorous conversation, and good eye contact can help lighten the mood a little to make both of you more comfortable.
Good luck!

get to know the girl you are dating and find out what she is interested in. If she is interested in something like tennis for example, then u should ask her stuff about the game and how she plays etc. Make sure to ask about something that u know little about so u can segway to other conversations based on her answers. Girls love it when guys ask them questions about things, especially sports lol. It shows your sensitive side and keeps conversation alive.
