Get a cough syrup for that type of cough. Something with a DM I think. How long have you been coughing? What colour is the mucus? The colour will determine if you just have a cough, or are sick. A smoker will cough up a greeny-yellow mucus, a cold will cause a bright yellow mucus. Pnemonia will cause a darker yellow, or darker green-yellow, almost a brown. If you are coughing up a dark brown that looks like coffee grounds, or are coughing up a frothy pink mucus, you need to get to an emergency room ASAP!

If this is all you want to know, use an cough expectorant. Read the labels carefully. Drink plenty of fluids (2-3 liters per day) to thin the secretions and make them easier to expectorate.

go to the doctor and have him/her prescribe a z-pac for you so it doesn't advance to bronchitis or pneumonia!!! (pronto!)
