sorry i have some questions about the fruit, as im an asian and seldom eat it in our countries, the price is quite expensive too :( anyway i got my hands on 1 packet hehe, and i'd like to ask..

1) the white powder is the fruits' own product, not pesticides, correct?
2) the maturity of the fruit i was told, is depending on the white color, the more it is matured, the less or the more the white should be?
3) are blueberries sprayed with pesticides, or can i just hand wash them casually? its quite a hassle to wash 1 by 1.

thanks in advance!

Blueberries not only taste very good and are have fiber and vitamin C!

The color for ripeness is deep purple, blue-black, if they are reddish then they aren't. Wrinkled skin is an old berry. Don't worry about the white stuff just look at the color and texture of the blueberry.

1) The white on the blueberry is its own stuff. Its a natural protectant for the blueberry.
2) You can wash them casually. Wash them right before you eat them so they won't go soft on you.

Hmm, I love blueberries and there are no white powders on them. Just wash them in the sink with a strainer so the water gows through the holes.
For me, when the fruit is picked, it is definitely ripe. Bleberries mature very fast and the problem of them rotting is more than the fruit being unripe..If that happens(softer fruit and frayed around the edges) cook them, as in bake in muffins, pancakes or whatever you like.

If you buy your produce at a grocery store, you should always wash it, because it all has been treated with pesticides. The best produce comes from corner farm markets and such. I always just casually wash and the blueberries are fine. I'm not sure exactly about the white spots, hope this helps.
