I live in the Sacramento-Vacaville vicinity and I have been looking for a kitten all week. I tried the SPCA and looking for flyers around town but with no luck. All the kittens in the shelter were all big. I like to raise them from when they're tiny so that they bond really well.

If you know anyone who has kittens or where you think I should look please email me at monkeysgirl04@sbcglobal.net or respond here.
I am looking for a female kitty. I know how to hand raise, so that's not a problem. Thanks for taking the time to read and maybe hlp me out!

A friend of mine went to adopt a little kitten but got a 1 1/2 year old cat instead and they have bonded very well. I think the cat will be thankful to have a home and not live in that cage no matter what age.

The age of the kitten means NOTHING when it comes to the bonding. You should NEVER bring home a kitten than needs to be hand-raised. Always make sure the kitten is fully weaned. Continue to look at local shelters & rescues. Have you tried Petfinder.com? It could inform you of rescues you may not of known about in your vicinity.

You can bond with an animal no matter how young or old; it depends on you and the cat.

I suggest getting a cat from a shelter or Humane Society. If you get one from a "giveaway" ad then you are encouraging that person to not get their own animal spayed. ("well, everyone always wants kittens so we can find homes for them")

Give all cats a chance...go down and see them. I'll bet you fall in love with one if you look into its eyes. :)

Why would you want a cat that's been taken away from it's mother too soon? All of the cats I've ever met like that have been neurotic. They try to suck on you and are always kind of weird and needy. I would much perfer an emotionally healthy cat that left it's mom between 8-10 weeks of age.

Consider checking on Craig's List near your area; there's usually at least some adoption fee, but that's where I got my new kitten (now an 8-month-old cat). Just go to the site below, and click on the city nearest you.
