I have this little red bump on my lip.(No its not a cold sore or an STD...Trust me!)
Anyway...its a little zit type thing on my lip,and its a little bit swollen from the bump.I tried putting ice on it,but it just made my lip and the skin above it all red.
Anyone know a quick home-way to make it un-swollen and un-red?

Thanks

I got something very similar to this, my gp said that it was 'just a cyst' and that it should go away within 3 months. I used lip exfoliant and covered it up with coloured lip gloss for a while. It healed in about 2 months.

The gp also said that there was an extreamly slim possibility that it may never go away and that a simple cosmetic surgery procedure could remove it.

Picking at it could result in an infection, so careful what you're scratching at. Attached is a wiki article thats a little gross, but tells you all about it.

If its not a cold sore then it may be like an acid bump. Sometimes after I eat really sour candy or fruits or even after I try a new toothpaste I will get a little red bump or two on or around my lips. Try covering it up with some concelear or something it it bothers you and if it doesnt go away or get better then call a dermotologist.

I had a bump on my lip and went to the dermatoligist and they said it was a broken blood vessel, They zapped it with a lazer and its all gone. Hope that helps. So my answer is go to the doctor.

Herpes. Don't fret though... If you've ever heard a friend or relative complain about cold sores on their mouth, they have herpes! 9 of 10 people have it, and it's not usually a big issue unless you have them on your genitals. Even then, some people don't get painful, obvious outbreaks. Sometimes it's barely noticeable and it's easily treated with medication (nontopical too - meaning you can take pills for this). Ahhh.... Herpes...

if the bump doesn't go away in a couple of days, I suggest that you see a dermatologist or at least your general practitioner.
