HDMI cable input?

I have a 42" LCD TV when i trying to use the HDMI Cable it keeps telling me that the DVI/HDMI INPUT IS BLOCK for copy rights proction, (what does this means) do i need to upgade the tv or what. Help please.

i had this problem. it's the cable company, they disabled it for some dumb reason. you need to update the firmware on your cable box. or get a new one. call and ask them. let me guess (TIME WARNER)?
