the insurance is on the car, not the person but the dwi makes it complicated.....you face losing your insurance and maybe charges for letting him drive your car when you knew he was dwi....

Two things can happen:

They cover the claim but once they find out that the driver is your sibliny AND driving the vehicle - they will add him on as a driver back to when the policy started.

They deny the claim, since he was not a covered driver. They have every right to do that. If you don't add a driver to your insurance and they contiue to drive your car - then thats considered fraud.

Uninsured motorist WILL NOT pay. It pays for your car if someone hits you and has no insurance.

no, the answer is straight no, if the car is wrecked the person who is on the insureance has to be driving it for it to get paided for. if the sibling was on ur insureance card then yes the insureance will pay for it and yes, your insureane payment will go up.

It depends on the kind of coverage you have. If you have uninsured motorist coverage, the insurance should pay for it. Given the circumstances, it's quite possible the rates will go up. Still beats having to pay for the damage yourself.

If you have collision coverage you have about 100% chance that they will pay for repairs AND raise your rates (providing they don't cancel your policy).

As long as your sibling had your permission to drive it and he/she is not excluded from your policy they should handle the claim as normal.

If your sibling lives with you they'll want to add him/her to the policy.
