I for one did, I don't agree with their liberal views but the war needs to be stopped. I think that is where they got their votes from.

The situation in Iraq was one reason, but it wasn't the only one or even the primary one for me. I voted pro-donkey mostly because of domestic issues at the state and federal levels.

As for others, it's hard to say. It seems like general corruption in the GOP helped steer people away in addition to the war. I find this amusing because 1, it was corruption in the Democratic party that helped the GOP gain control of Congress in the 1990s, and 2, the GOP was the one trying to win elections by pushing a phony platform of morality and values.

What war? All we are doing over there is peace-keeping while the Iraqis get their ducks in a row! Would you really want to risk letting Iraq be a safe haven for terrorists if we leave too early? If we do that then theyre gonna follow us right back home! You want another world trade center disaster? I voted republican because they are truly the only ones that are serious about national security and values should be the most important issue if youre a Christian.

Then your vote was wasted. I am a Democrat and have been since I first voted at age 18 in 1971. I come from a long line of Democrats and have raised a new generation of Democrats. Democrats won this election because people are scared. That doesn't mean they will do any better job. I said I was a Democrat, that doesn't mean I'm stupid. Politicians are a self serving lot, so we'll see what happens. If you are against this "war", then get out there and make your voice heard before another one of our sons or daughters gets the top of their head blown off.

I think they did get momentum from the war. But the problem is still the same. If we leave Iraq too soon, we create more problems than were there in the first place. Yet we don't want to stay much longer. There is no great solution, whoever is calling the shots. I'm just glad Bush got his wakeup call and Gates has replaced Rumsfeld.

I voted for the people who I thought would do the best job in the long run. Mostly Democrats but one or two Republicans as well.

Even tho I'm a Dem, I voted Repub for the most part because I'd rather have Bush than Pelosi any day. I live in Calif and she has been a big disappointment up until now. I hope she gets better.

First of all, WRONG SECTION. This definitely belongs in the "Politics" section.

Secondly, I didn't vote for Democrats "just because" of the war. I generally agree with the Democratic perspective.

Third... I DO agree with liberal views.

Not me. I voted for them based on each individual candidate's policy. I even voted for one republican because I liked what she had been doing so far.
