As I have explained in verses 1 and 2, the United States Government is the beast. But in order for this interpretation to square with Scripture, it must also fit verse 3. Few today would doubt the military superiority of the United States. But if the American Government is the beast, then this military capability must be severely wounded, then emerge on the world stage in such a dramatic turn of events that the other nations of the world are astonished.
It also follows that if the United States is today the superpower referred to in verses 1 and 2, then this event must have already occurred. Something in this nation's past must match the description of a mortal military wound for the prophecy to fit. To put it in the form of a question: When did the United States become a superpower? Or, to be more specific: What historical event involving the United States military led to the development of this nation becoming the world's greatest superpower?
To find the answer requires some thinking about American history. The event must have occurred within the last hundred years or so, because at the time of the Civil War and before, Americans fought with themselves to decide whether there would be an America. The event could not have occurred within the last few decades, though, because the United States had already become a superpower. America forced the Soviet Union to back down in 1962, and had made agreements with its World War II allies over which portions of the earth it would control even before the war ended. The wound and its recovery must have occurred during the early twentieth century.
Certainly, both world wars were watershed events for the United States. World War I saw the United States involved in global conflict, but the thrust of its foreign policy was geared toward this hemisphere. The United States Government limited its international influence to Central America and the Caribbean. It was during World War II, the 1940s, that the United States became a power with globe-encircling interests. American influence in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East accompanied the Cold War. It is unnerving to realize how closely the event that led to United States involvement in World War II matches John's prophecy of the beast, the end-time superpower, receiving a mortal wound to its military leadership.
History records the event happening on December 7, 1941. On that day, millions of Americans huddled around their radios to hear the news. Confusion, shock, and disbelief spread across the nation. The lives of the American people had been thrown into turmoil and fear. America had been attacked for the first time in over a century, and we were at war. It seemed impossible! News of war ignited a frenzy of activity in the months that followed as a nation mobilized its resources. Victory gardens sprung up, recycling bins appeared, and gas rationing cards were used. Factories that produced autos were converted to produce airplanes, boats, and tanks. There was no escape from talk of war. The unthinkable had happened. The Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor.

If you are referring to the beast as being Saten, this event occured at the resurection of Jesus Christ from the grave.
ALthought Jesus stated, it is finished just before he drew his last breath as a human man in human flesh.
Saten has been delivered the mortal "blow" told about to us in Genesis to Adam and Eve. Your seed will crush its head and in doing so will bruise his heel.
All that is truely left is for Jesus to come back once again and actually claim the victory that is already his.
The events that occur between the resurection and Jesus return are simple details and while they must occur, they have nothing to do with the victory, for it has already been won.
I see now that you are referring to the anti Christ. I will disagree with you biblically. It has not happened yet. The anti Christ will be a real human, not a country. For this man will have no need of a woman, that is not to say that he will not be married, he will have no need for her, she would be "window dressing" if he had a wife. He will receive a mortal wound and "die", he will be resurected so that many will be decieved into believing he is the true Messiah. He will proclaim peace throughout the world and the Jewish communities will proclaim him as Messiah. They will make him "king" of the temple that they will build in the spot that they want it to be built and they will be able to do this without harm from outside enemies such as the Muslim Islams.
So, from all biblical descriptions of things that must happen yet, the anti Christ is not yet in power and certainly has not received a mortal wound that will serve to deceive many people into believing that he is the Messiah that the Jewish community is still waiting to see come to redeem them.

Actually, Emperor Nero had received a fatal head wound when he tried to commit suicied in around the time Revelation was written. I believe that Nero did die from this wound, but there was a rumor going around that he was revived. The people who wondered after this rumor were the people that continued to worship in the empirial shrines, which had talking statues. So, the year this first happened was somewhere in the late 0080's I think.

It is a prophecy, it hasn't happened yet so how can we know what year? You need to clarify which first beast received a mortal wound, I 'm not aware of it, could you give a verse reference in revelation?

Revelation 13:4-
"And lo the beast arose, on the sixth day of the sixth month of the sixth year of the sixth even larger group of years, and God saw its fiery nostrils and cloven hooves and that it smelled like heroic underpants, and he smote the beast with bolts of lightening, and then he smote it again with a cricket bat, and the beast bellowed an unearthly sound and shrank from the Lord, and said "that stung, Lord, especially that weird bat".
