Well today me and my family went to a family thing. and my dad noticed that I wasn't talking to anyone, so he was asking if there was anything wrong, (I said) "no, I'm like this all the time"
(My dad said) "well your like me, I'm either too self conscious or to scared to take a risk, and if you don't take risks then it will never pay off.
So I'm both of those too, and I want to know if it's inherited or because I'v become degrading to myself because I find my self unpleasant?

I think its a lot of inherited and a little of who parents you. No personality trait is good or bad. Anything that you do in excess is bad. Take anger often thought of as a negative emotion. A person that is easily angered could become an abuser; something bad, or a person who is impatient with injustice and wants to change it; something good.
My dad arrests criminals as a detective. Are the children of such individuals bad? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Inherited personality traits can drive a person to be a saint or a sinner. Again, all personality traits are neutral and can be bad or good depending on how they are expressed.

ideas are a private checklist of something you have certainly experienced. So no, you may not inherit those. What you may earnings, by using learn, is an be attentive to-how of many stuff that your loved ones has accomplished. looking pictures of kinfolk supplies a sense for what their lives have been like. historic activities can shape the personalities of your ancestors.. in case you study a grandfather survived an attack by making use of Indians, it enables clarify why he could desire to weren't undemanding and autonomous. Or if somebody became into orphaned, and had to fend for themselves at age 14, it may desire to bypass away them distant, extremely of affectionate. I even have seen some very sturdy issues handed down by using my very own relatives. Are they certainly ideas? No, they don't seem to be.

What you are experiencing is called hermeneutics. You learned how to act by watching your father. You also will inherit some of his personality traits as well.
All of that said, you can overcome those traits by being aware of them. Look at how you are acting and see if you can respond in a different way to the situation. Eventually, you will find your most comfortable responses and they will become your standards.
Take care,
Troy

You are what you learn in life. no matter what the subject is or the individual you learn it from. You take away a part of everything and everyone that you come in contact with in life it's just how you let it affect you as to how much of a attitude you retain. Think positive and try to find all the positive side of everyone you come in contact with so you walk away a well rounded individual; yet, be yourself at the same time. So, yes; everything affects us it's just how we let it affect us that matters.

I have seen many times, that children have their birth parents traits, but I have also seen people that became cognizant that some traits were negative & decided to alter their behavior . . . to deliberately behave in a more positive manner. I believe most people can shed negative attitudes if they really desire it.
We can all be better than we are with a bit of effort.

Personality is so inheritable it is not funny. My father was a compulsive alcoholic that I never really knew and yet I am a very compulisve person with a tendency to overindulge and I just know it comes from him. My mother is not that way at all.
You are probably very much like your father!

It's inherited or learned from your dad. I have lots of anxiety, depression, and low self esteem. My mom is the exact same way. I'm still that way and I haven't lived with her for 4 years.

Unless we make a concerted effort, as we age we tend to become our parents in behavior, attitude, and what comes out of our mouths in stressful situations.

yes it's possible... i personally believe in "tabula raza" when it comes to kids minds... it means... the child's mind is like an empty slate. what the child sees he copies... what parents do.. he imitates... it happens and it is proven in studies... so you're attitude isn't eally inherited like the way genes are... it's more of... you learned it. hating yourself will not help... try changing yourself...to fit what you want or try loving what you are

It's not exactly inherited, but it is learned behavior. You watched him model this kind of behavior and, unconciously or otherwise, you picked it up. You can change if you want to.
