If you turn him down a few times and not show that you are dying to go out with him he most likely will chase you down with a phone call. You should know that you are worth a phone call if that's what you prefer and if he is not even going to give you that much then he is not the one for you.
Remember you are worth it, really. It's just a bloody phone call. This is test and don't let him off if he fails.

well, i like this girl and i prefer to text her cause im scared of calling her at the wrong times, when ever i call her shes too busy to talk, so texting is more convenient i guess, also its less nervous for some guys to text rather than call, cause in a ph conversation u can have awkward silences, if u dont want to pay then tell him to call u instead

If you are just starting to date, it is probably less awkward for him to txt msg you, as there are no awkward moments of silence or opportunities for him to insert foot in mouth. After 2 or 3 dates though and if both want to continue the relationship, it seems more normal to call instead.
Btw, if he thinks you're pretty, then he might be tongue tied. Does he talk when you're together?

Not all of us do! I HATE text messaging...I'd probably do it more with a Blackberry or something, but typing the same darn number to get to the letter "s" four times is just too much. Especially when you're trying to spell Mississippi!!!!
