I had always figued that my hubby would propose while we were camping or skiing---our two favorite hobbies. We had gone in June 2004 and picked out the setting for the engagment ring but he wanted to be in charge of the center stone. I assumed that I would get it when we went camping in August but right before our trip he told me to tell the ladies at work that I wasn't getting my ring. (they were always anxious to look at my hand when I got back from a vacation) So, our August camping trip came and went with no ring. So, January 2005 we were getting ready to go on our ski trip up north and again he told me to tell the ladies at work not to expect a ring. So, since I hadn't gotten it at the camping trip and he said the same thing I totally wasn't expecting it for the ski trip. Well, on January 10th 2005 I woke up to get ready to go skiing and I was really dizzy. So hubby was all nice and usually he was pushy to get out on the hill first thing in the morning. I didn't think anything of it at the time though. So, then we went to the back side of the hill where my favorite run is. Well, it's a long chair ride there so we typically sit in the warming hut to take the chill off before we start skiing. So, we sat in the hut, ate lunch, and again he was all about taking our time. It was snowing pretty good--whiteout/blizzard like. Well, the snow started to stop so we decided to go out and start skiing. So, I got my skis out of the rack and set them down on a flat part of the hill and he told me to move them farther over--which I thought was weird but I did it. Then I clipped into my skis and he bent down and grabbed his ankle. I asked what was wrong and he said the buttons on his pants were hurting his ankle so I asked him what I could do to help--then he switched knees--which I also thought was weird but I started to think maybe he's going to propose--then I talked myself out of it because he said it wasn't going to happen that weekend. Well, sure enough he started his speech. I didn't hear the first part because I was thinking Oh My God he's actually proposing--then I tuned in for part--then I tuned out again because I kept telling myself Don't forget to say yes (Because I knew of people who never actually said yes until way later) then I tuned in again and heard the Will you marry me part. I started to tear a bit, stopped said yes, he gave me a hug and told me that my mom was expecting my call and pulled out his cell phone. As I was dialing my mom I asked if he had asked my parents and he did. Then after I talked to my mom I wanted to call my best friend to tell her but for the life of my I couldn't remember her number. So, I called information and the guy couldn't find a listing--which irritates me to this day because her last name is simple! So, hubby started to tell me how he asked my parents and I finally remembered my friends number and called her. Then we skied for the rest of the day and went to our favorite restaurant for dinner. It was the best day ever!!

OH--then when I went back to work--I was hanging up my coat and one of my coworkers saw my ring from afar. She came over to my desk and said is that a ring I see on your finger and when she said that the co-worker that sits in the cube next to me rolled over with her chair and practically rolled over my other co-worker. Then shortly after that every one was gathered around my desk.

Then, to tell my grandma we all (mom, dad, brother, brother's girlfriend) went to her house. When we walked in I grabbed a container of my favorite cookies and went to eat one and my grandma said two flavors were in there so to show her the tin and she'd show me which were the ones I like. So she pointed them out to me and I took my left hand and right in front of her face said these ones right here and she said yes but didn't notice the ring and again I said no these ones right here and she said yes and then realized I had the ring on...she said "holy sh**, he finally did it" and started laughing because she didn't see the ring at first. Then she told me she wanted me to come back the next day because her sister would be there. So, I went back the next day and her sister swore too! It was pretty funny. (Probably funnier in person though than this story probably sounds)

Oh, and since I'm procrastinating from work I might as well tell ya how he asked my parents....

I was going to a movie with my best friend (she wasn't in on it) and hubby called my mom and asked if my dad was home because he had a belated christmas gift to bring over that was really heavy and he needed someone to help him. Well, dad was at the post office. So, hubby waited a few and went over when my dad was home. When he got there he told my parents he didn't really have a gift but needed to talk to them. They thought maybe he was going to break up with me and wanted them to be prepared (hubby had cold feet a few years prior and almost broke off our zillion year relationship). So, then he asked them if he could have my hand and they were very surprised. Mom said dad's jaw dropped and he was speechless so she said yes then dad composed himself and said that I couldn't be getting a better guy. So, then mom was all worried she'd slip so she barely talked to me that evening and when I left.

Fun Stuff!

It was not very romantic but I still accepted and he is still with me. He told me we were going to look at "Property" I automatically thought of houses. We went to the Jeweler's house (cause the guy works from his home and is a friend of the family) and told him he was a bad liar cause I knew where we were and we were not there to see the house. So I thought we were going to browse and look at rings. Even though he knew what I wanted. He was able to convince me that the guy was selling his home (I am sooooo stupid-the dude is in his 80's). So when the dude got out a ring and my fiance showed it to me I said yeah I like this one. He said "Good because it is yours"! I could not believe it and kept asking if he was for real cause once I put it on my finger I WAS NOT taking it back off. I cried for hours I was so happy and in shock. I waited over 2 years for that day. We have been together 4 1/2 years now and when we get married it will be 5years and 1 month.

My husband and I had gone out to a local fair and I saw a small celtic pinky ring that I really liked. The ring was about 5 sizes too small and he could tell that I was a little upset that it didn't fit so he dragged me off to another stand, bought a "diamond" ring, and proposed right there in the middle of the fairway amidst the shoot the ducks and pop the balloon games just to cheer me up. He later said that he was planning on asking on our anniversary (which was 2 months away) but thought that I needed to be cheered up. And, 6 years later, I still were that $3.00 ring while the "real" one sits in the jewlery box, only worn when we go out somewhere. Then, the original ring gets moved to the right hand...I think that ring is my most prized possession due to the thought and spontaneity behind it!

“Hey look! I won a free soda. This never happens to me; it’s my lucky day.” I couldn’t realize at that moment why John, my boyfriend of two and a half years, was starting to sweat. I thought about asking him what was wrong, but then I saw we were coming close to the restaurant, so I gave up.

When we walked in to Austin’s Restaurant, John went up to the Hostess told her about our reservations and she smiled and gave him a wink. I was getting a little curious about her playful attitude when John all of a sudden told me, “Oh, I forgot your present in the car.” Present? I couldn’t begin to imagine what he had gotten me, and being the incredibly inquisitive person I am, although some would say annoyingly impatient, I could barely hold in my curiosity.

The waitress sat us in a quiet corner of the restaurant and told us the specials of the day. John said he needed to use the restroom and after a couple minutes I saw him talking to the manager in the lobby. I thought it was probably something innocent so I gave it no mind. Little did I know how much it would change my life.

He gave me a present and told me I could not open it until he read me a poem he wrote. Upon the end of the poem, when I opened it there was a beautiful framed version of the poem. Written in red scattered letters throughout the poem was the question, “Will you marry me?” He went down to one knee and pulled out an engagement ring.

Of course, rather then saying yes, I simply jumped on him in the middle of the restaurant. That was definitely the best surprise I ever received and I will treasure the memory forever.

My husband propsed at a Science Museum! It was the day before my birthday and he surprised me with a trip to my favorite museum. We spent the day looking at huge dinosaurs, playing with the wave machine, making real tornadoes, looking at mummies, and just acting like little kids.

Then he takes me to my favorite part, the Musical Stairs, where every stair plays a different note. We went up a few flights, away from all the kids. We had a 180* view of the sparkling Mississippi River on a sunny spring day. He got on his knee (I thought he was tying his shoe), opens a ring box, and says, "I know we don't have any money...or a place to live....and we're not done with college yet...but I love you more than anything on this earth. Will you marry me and be my wife?"

Oh, the joy!

It was pouring down raining, flash floods and everything. My husband went off to our bedroom very secretively and told me not to come in. Half an hour later, he asked me to come in to the bedroom. He gave me a beautiful handmade card. I opened it up, to the words "Will you marry me?" and a gorgeous ring sticky taped to the inside. It wasn't very romantic, but that day we had planned to go on a youth camp, where he was going to get down on bended knee at dinner, in front of everyone, and propose. I didn't mind though, it's not how you propose, but the fact that he wanted me to be his wife that made it so special. Also, he wanted to propose THAT day, because it was our 1 year anniversary. We've been married 5 years now.

Well, I knew he had the ring, and I knew it was coming, and we always knew we would get married so it wasn't a huge shock BUT

We were visiting my parents for Christmas and were at my Grandparent's house (same city) and it was SNOWING. It was the first time in my life I've seen snow and the first time in 20 years it's snowed there (Texas). It was Christmas Eve!! He said lets go for a walk and we went to this park I used to go with my cousins when I was younger - it was freezing and we were under the playground slide.. there was one of those little wheels they put for little kids to play with - a steering wheel - and he put the little bag there.

He knows I'm nosy so he was like "oh whats that ? someone left a bag there" and I picked it up and inside was the ring at first I was like wow someone left a ring and then I figured it out lol

We met in college. I had come lower back to campus from Christmas harm (2006) each and every week early and became into staying with a relatives chum in the section. He took me ice skating and proposed to me on the ice. He slipped and landed on his butt/area (on objective, yet i did not be attentive to that). He became into retaining his provide up his chest, interior his jacket, so i assumed that he'd cracked a rib or something. i did not be attentive to his jacket had an inner pocket and that he had a ring in there. He pulled out a white velvet ring container and proposed. i became into so bowled over that i did not even say confident for some hours lol. I recommend, I agreed to it and hugged him and have been given somewhat excited, however the word, "confident" did not come from my lips till some hours later. His roommate have been shooting human beings all night, which became into stressful with the aid of fact i'm the worldwide's clumsiest skater and that i did not not prefer reported clumsiness documented. yet in a while, i became into happy that somebody have been given it on video =) when I helped him up, i found out that truly every physique else on the rink had stopped skating and have been gazing us, smiling. some strangers took pictures lol. He had instructed one in all his pals that he became into going to point, and that they made us a attractive dinner in a while and instructed me all approximately his sneaky making plans.

I was having a bad day and my fiance invited me over to his house to watch a movie and drink a glass of wine. He told me that he had checked on my engagement ring and the jeweler had put the wrong stone in it, so my ring would not be ready for a couple of weeks. I was trying to make sure that the jeweler was going to pay for the changes and he kept telling me that it was taken care of. Of course, that just did not help my bad day, but I knew that things would have to get better. So after I get home and head over to his house, he decides that he wants to go out and buy wine glasses and pick up a movie to watch. I really didn't think much about why he wanted the wine glasses all of a sudden given the bad day that I had. I just figured he was finally tired of drinking wine out of his coffee cups. LOL. Well, we picked out some nice wine glasses and picked up a funny movie to watch. Once we got back to his house, he told me to start watching the movie while he got the wine I thought he was being sweet and letting me relax. When he hands me the glass of wine, I looked at it because it was a new brand that my fiance picked up and didn't tell me what kind he got. I noticed that in the bottom of the glass was my ring. So I looked at the ring, then kind of looked at him, and then looked back at the ring. By the time I comprehended what was going on, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. I started shaking and crying because I was not expecting it at all. Of course, I said yes and by that time, he was shaking as he was trying to put the ring on my finger. I found out later, that he bought me Ice Wine which is something that we had always wanted to try, but due to its expense only wanted it for special occasions.

lol, Well what was suppose to be a romanticly planned proposal ended up being not so romantic and not so much of a propsal.

My husband ordered the ring from the jeweler, he gave them his cell phone number to call when it was done, although they did give him a promise date. He had planned everything out for a night out at one of the little local pubs that does dinner drinks and karaoke. His parents were invited and so were mine. He was going to get up and start singing then stop and propose.

What actually happened, was that he left his cell phone at home, on the same day that the jeweler called. As normal I answered it, and at first I didn't have a clue cause the jeweler just said to have Mr. Lewis call regarding his order and gave a number. I told him I would pass along the message, the jeweler then proceeded to explain to me that when the ring he ordered came back from being sized, that 2 of the smaller diamonds had fallen out of the setting.

I was in shock, and told the jeweler that I think he just ruined a surprise. I did pass the message along, and my now husband was a bit irraitated. He called the jeweler back and they explained everything to him again. He was so mad that he told them to keep the ring, he was coming to get his money back. We left early for dinner, and stopped and got his money, then in the same plaza as the pub was another jeweler, so we stopped, picked out a ring, and it was already the perfect size.

We went in and met up with his parents and mine, not letting them in on the spoiled surpirse. We ate, and talked, and as he planned he got up to sing. He requested my favorite song, "Lady" by Kenny Rogers, got about half way through it and got on his knee and asked me to marry him.

16 months later we got married, and danced to the full song of "Lady". Now, 8 months later we are happy and steal every chance we can to smile, kiss, laugh and love with each other.

When we first moved in together, we were sitting together on the floor because we hadn't moved our furniture in yet, I happened to see my little kitten, Bruce Lee, doing flips and batting at his collar, and chewing on something. I was curious because he was acting different than when he usually plays, so when I called him over to see what he was playing with, I realized it was a ring. I untied it from his collar and looked at my fiance as he proposed to me there on the floor of our brand new home. I thought it was amazingly sweet of him to propose to me that way.
