make sure you get it painted with a kitchen paint.. it holds up better with mositure stain resistance etc. Like your walls your cabinets will need repainting often depending on the colour you choose it may look grungy earlier. The only thing I can see is that you need to be prepared to paint your cabinets but that can also be a postive if you want to change the appearance. g/l

The painted wood cabinets will withstand the same use as stained wood.
The cabinet manufactures have a wide range of solid colour finishes to choose from. Check with them to determine the finish you want. If you are painting them yourself consult with a experienced and knowledgeable paint outlet. The product range is good...every thing from food safe epoxies to a latex enamel.

Both the stained and painted product will wear with use and time,they both show similar wear patterns around pulls and corners etc.

and change color is a snap.
you stain-not easy to change..
