He has been making a small comeback.
In the eighties he was exposed in a fraud that involved the burning of a house.
He claimed to have been made destitute by the loss, then it came out that he also owned a mansion stuffed with expensive goods.
There were rumors of insurance fraud, I don't think there were any charges though.
His ministry collapsed and he was forced to work for another televangelist until the smoke cleared.

The only thing I know about Sapulpa, OK, is that in August, 1970, when I was hitch hiking around the United States for 2 weeks, some miles outside Sapulpa a young lady from Sapulpa in a 1953 or '54 Chevy with no brakes picked me up, and when we finally came to a stop somewhere on Sapulpa's main street, dropped me off to continue on my way. It wasn't you, was it? If it was, thanks again for the ride!
