It's perfectly realistic, you both have your own life. If you feel it is not enough, just tell him that it bothers you and you'd like to stay in touch more often. Don't give him the "don't you love me?" guilt trip because that usually backfires.

I'm in a long distance relationship and we talk several times a day - every day. I'm not saying this is what you need to do, it's just what we want to do. So I don't know how your relationship is, but it really depends on what type of person your partner was when you were together, or when you do see each other - are you guys very close and very affectionate? There are some things to ask yourself:

1) Did you guys communicate alot before the long distance or when you guys did see each other?
If no, then phone is definitely much harder and your partner might not be a phone person.

2) Are there other things that might tell you something's wrong? Do you guys talk alot when you do talk on the phone? How long are your conversations? If they are short and you guys don't have much to discuss, then that might be clues.

Overall, he probably still loves you but it's just really hard to do long distance. Some people just aren't phone people. If you are feeling insecure or iffy about the lack of communication, you should ask yourself if more phone time is something you need. You shouldn't have to question or be insecure about the relationship.

i'm not sure how you guys met, cuz that is a big factor, and if its online, you should be careful. Well, you don't have to communicate everyday, but do have a set schedule to meet online. I've done it for a very long time, and we talk everyday and sometime we would run out of things to say cuz we were only online. Its not easy, to talk everyday, you should do things for yourself too. make sure you hang out with your friends and don't be online all the time.

i feel in that way too. It's makes me feel that he didn't care about me. But, we are still students. Maybe, he afraid that the bill is too high. The most worse is, he only sms, but not phone me.
