You have to tell someone. If you are worried about the way your Mum may react you need to get another adult family member that you trust to talk to her. If there is no family member that you trust then maybe a teacher etc. I can tell you as someone who was raised with abuse you need to break the cycle. Silence will not solve this problem. hope this helps and I hope even more that this problem is resolved

It's not true that you can't do anything -- you can talk to your brother and urge him to go with you to talk to your mom, just the three of you. If she won't listen, then you go with your bro to confide in a trusted relative, pastor, teacher or counselor. See, if your dad's abusing him, it's unlikely it'll stop.
Also, your bro (and you) need help to learn how to take care of yourselves, and how to put all of this in context in your life. You and your brother need, and deserve, to be safe - that's got to be your first priority. Let your brother know you love him and will be there for him, then do what you have to do in order to be safe.

I'm 16. I am telling you, there is something you can do. You need to tell your mom what your brother told you, if you are too scared to tell your mom, you need to go to the police station and tell someone. Child abuse is WRONG....I have been emotionally abused since I was 3, I will never get over it, because it will not change, because he will never stop. You can get your father to stop....please tell someone, for me, do it in favor for all abused kids in America...be strong and Godbless you. I will pray for you and your brother.

I agree that you MUST tell someone--your mom, a family friend, or a school counselor. You can't allow this to go on, and telling is the best thing you can do for your brother, yourself, and even your father. He probably needs help with anger management.
Good luck.

I'm going to start off by telling you to talk to your brother and tell him that every things gonna be alright and that if he believes in Heaven or Hell and if he says "Yes" then tell him that it is a Sin to commit Suicide and he will go to hell if he does it. But Hun I think that you should tell your brother that God sees and hears everything and that he knows what we all go through and not on your brothers time God handles prayers on his time.He has a list of people to help and trust me I know that you, your brother, your mother, and everyone else in your family prayers will be answered soon enough.

don't be scared sweetie. you are your brother's source of strength now so you got to be brave. there are a lot of people who could help you. the best would be to tell your mom, but if your not ready to do that yet, you could ask the help of a priest, or a guidance counsellor, a trusted teacher, or an adult friend whom you could trust with something this big. and please do not delay, there is an urgency in this situation that you shouldn't disregard.

if you tell a school "official" they are required by law to tell the police so i would first talk to your mom and see how she takes it maybe even talk to your brother prior to saying anything if you think he is in danger of committing suicide i would say something right away you don't want to loose your brother
