It's a healthy unknown partition (NTFS). It has windows on it and a couple of other files I'm hoping to get back. How do I repair this partition or get access to the files. The windows that I'm using now won't even recognize it in "my computer". What should I do? It doesn't even have a letter!

Download the free linux distro Slax. The newest version is 5.18
and you can download it from this site: http://www.slax.org/download.php

its free and all you have to do is burn it to a cd as an image with a program like Nero and then restart your computer with the cd in the cd drive. Your computer will boot into linux and when everything is finished loading use the user name "root" and the password "toor" without quotes. After that the slax desktop should appear and then you can click on Konqueror which will be on the bottom left and you will see all the drives on your computer. You can copy files from NTFS drives with slax but you cant edit them.

what windows? 98?
you can't access a ntfs partion from 98 or any 9x variant ( including ME ),
you can access a damaged partion with a live knoppix distro and copy files from the partition to another inside of knoppix

Certain versions of Windows only see FAT32 partitions. You must use a version of Windows that can see NTFS, such as win2000, or winXP.

which windows are you using if it is win98, you can't see NTFS partition with win98, install winXP or win2000.

if you are not using win98, try installing some partition recovery software and try to recover from that
e.g.
