my brother just tried to commit sucide last night. I was the one who saved his life and got him to a hospital. I am very concerned because he sayd that our father has abused him for two years (Ever since my father was taken to jail on a one-night DUI). I dont know what to say because I know that without my father we cant afford to keep up the house and stuff like that, my mom has a job but its not the best. Neither can I keep letting my bro get hurt. What should I do?

You and your brother are so young to be handling these tough situations and I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. I don't know if your mom knows; you need to let her know. If she does know and she won't do anything about it then you need to find another trusted adult to talk to, if there is no other trusted adult around then you need to place a call to department of children and family services and they will help you. Don't worry so much about your mom. If you have family and friends I'm sure they will help you out. If there are no friends and family around then your family can get help through different social services out there, that are funded by the state. You need to band together closer as a family even more now that your father should be out of the house and only being able to visit you with another adult in the house. No one should have to endure what you and your brother are going through. NO ONE deserves that! Your father needs help and shouldn't be around you guys right now. I will pray for you both while your going through this. God will not let you down. Good luck young ones. May God bless you and keep you safe. I wish I could give you both a big hug to let you know your not alone.

your father should be reported. Child Abuse is wrong and sick. The man needs help. Your brother needs more help now that he has voiced what has been happening to him. He needs the rest of his family to be strong for him, and support whatever decision he decides to make....I don't agree with his attempt at sucide, but he needs lots of moral support right now.

I know it might be difficult but you HAVE to report your dad. My dad is emotionally abusive, I know it is not what your brother went through, but that is my point, I have gone through only emotional abuse and it has scarred me for life. Child abuse is wrong, and you must report him. I am sorry for your turmoil, god bless you, I will pray for you, your brother, and your mom.

Godbless
