hmm...surge somewhere. Could be very dangerous, though. Call electrician tomorrow.

The above are correct, but just to be sure, you didn't plug a American appliance (AC) into a European outlet (DC), did you? You'd get the same results.

Firstly, make sure your electrical Item is not UPS. If UPS, then make sure the internal wiring is in the position.

If not the UPS, maybe your wiring is loosen out. And /or the switch socket outlet is aging...

Could be a short-circuit. If it happens only when you plug this object in, or if it happens in other outlets, the short is in the appliance.

derect short,turn off breaker an replace outlet,please let someone who nows replace so you dont get hurt.good luck,idid a lot of electrical,please let a person that will do it right,it aint hard but it must be done right, god bless you,i hope that doesnt affend you
