I do work for a shipping company and I need some advice on a moral matter.

You see one day I and Joe, another born again christian, accidentally opened a shipping container full of fancy imported wine. We did not want it to spoil, so we each took 75 crates for safe keeping in our garages.

There was no way our supervisor was going to give us any grief - he is a decent christian man and we gave him 100 notes to keep his mouth shut.

The problem is the insurance company investigator. This guy is threatening to get the police involved. I told him I dont know nothing about the wine and that I go to church and whatnot. But he thinks I am lying and wont get off my back.

My wife is telling me to sell the 75 crates of wine out the back of a place I know, and then tell the investigator that Joe did the whole thing. That way we get this guy off my back, and stitch Joe up.

But Joe owes me $500 bucks. If he goes down, I don´t get paid.

How can I get my money and blame Joe?

Another easy one.

First, tell Joe that the cops are on to him, and that he needs to hide. Convince him that he can trust no one but you, and put him up in a "safe" house somewhere.

Second, sell your half of the wine, and destroy any evidence that it was ever in your possession.

Third, tell the investigator that Joe stole the wine, and that he threatened you to keep you quiet, play it up right, get the law involved.

Fourth, convince the original owner of the wine to pony up a reward for Joe's capture, and for the wine.

Fifth, rat Joe out, give Joe's crates of wine to the original owner and collect the reward (which should be substantial enough to cover any debts that Joe has accrued with you).

While this plan does have one flaw (that Joe is actually not being held accountable for the $500 that he owes you) I feel that this works to your advantage by verifying the credibility of your claim to the investigator that you are a good churchgoing christian. After forgiving the debt of a friend who is going through a rough patch is the christian thing to do.

Born again Christian? Well anyway you look at it, you are going to have to either give the wine back and risk the chance of losing your job, because your boss is going to be arrested, and so will you. He isn`t going to just let you guys off of the hook, he will being trying to save himself. Was this all worth it? You have stolen something, you are bearing false witness if you blame it all on Joe, and you are not telling the truth to the investigator. Can you not see that there is no way out of this? You are taking a chance of doing some serious prison time for fraud.

You are not a christian if you steal- Joe's problem- his lying and owing you money- is also something that is not "christian". Solve your own before you make more- give the wine back- even annon. into the shipping warehouse- figure you donated the 100 to charity and give Joe a break or a payment schedule- everything you suggest only gets you deeper in trouble- physically and spiritually. Time to start living your stories on being "born again"

Oh man, Pastor Sauce. You're in deep.
No wonder the Insurance Investigator doesn't believe you.
And if I believed you were a Christian, then I wouldn't have to tell you that you need Jesus.

If I say I believe this story, then I'd have to say this:
The Investigator won't let up because 1) you're a thief, 2) you're conspirator, 3) you're a liar.
About the only "good" thing about this, is that apparently you and your wife deserve each other.

But then, I don't believe any of the story, which means you're only a liar.

Maybe you can sell the crates for $250.00 a crate. That would give you $18,750.00. You could take your wife on an Alaskan cruise. She'll love it. While you're there you can decide to buy into a basket weaving business. That would mean you need to move to Alaska, because commuting would not be cost effective for you. But you're going to need more money for a house. So you decided to make up a scan with a nursing home, have the patients and their family to sell these baskets as a fund raiser to earn money for a new van to transport the patients to doctor appointments. In fact you get 37 different nursing homes in on this. You earned enough money to take another trip with your wife to France. You decide you have to stay there because you are wanted by the police in Alaska. But you need a place to live and you have to come up with another scam to afford a house.................

The fact is you and Joe stole this crate of wine together so it is not right to get him in trouble and you get off the hook. I know this is not what you want to hear but it's the truth. You should go to your supervisor and tell the insurance company investor what happened and hope they will let it go.

It sounds unethical all the way around, why stick it ALL on Joe? What's he ever done that's so bad? Sounds like you just want a free ticket and jam up Joe. Pretty wrong if you ask me, which technically, ya did.

1st question, What's Joe done to you to deserve going to jail????

2nd question, Read your own question, does it really sound right? Sound like the Christian thing to do?

Shame on you for hiding under the banner of "born again Christian", There is NOTHING in your actions to suggest that you were born again. You are not a changed person. A born again Christian IS a different person, as the name implies they are now "like Christ".

What happened to "Thou shalt not steal"? You are guilty of coveting, stealing, lying and probably more; you deserve to be caught. You need to return what you took, face the consequences and change your ways, lest worst come to worst. And it will.
