First off, you need to get the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair. and then get your ends trimmed every 6 weeks... I use bio-silk after I wash my hair and condition it, put a lil dab in hand and work it threw, then use a flat Iron to press you hair smoothly..
(If you have wavy hair, you will have to flat iron it, you can get chemical relaxers put on your hair, but it still won't completely make it straight and it;s only temporary..and damages your hair worse.)
Over the counter shampoo's do not work as good as professional, I would suggest Sleek shampoo and cond.... by matrix. also use a smoothing lotion to put into your hair before you blow dry it..
I have been a hairstylist for 20 yrs.. and I would suggest all these to any one of my customers.. Best of luck..

From what you described, I have the same hair issues as you do. I, however, flat iron every day. I think it will be difficult to get your hair to be really really straight w/o flat ironing. If you are looking for a fix that comes completely from products...it might not work. But, I have tried a TON of products to keep my hair straight/not frizzy. The absolute BEST products I have found are Aveda's Hang Straight which is a cream you put in wet hair to help straighten and Aveda's Light Elements Smoothing Fluid which you put in your hair after it's dry to control the frizz. But seriously...you have to take some initiative if you have hair like ours and you want it to look good. Invest in a good ceramic flat-iron! Chi Irons are the best.

I have curly hair that's thick and very frizzy. The kind of shampoo and conditioner DO make a huge difference, not just the styling product you use to finish your look.
I LOVE Redkin All Soft shampoo and condition, it's amazing.
Do you blow dry? It seems like air drying helps a ton w/ frizz cause blow drying usually makes to worse unless you follow w/ a flat iron. Another great product is Aveda Brilliant retexturizing gel, it's very good!

put frizz-ease in your hair ( they have a whole product line ) it should help , also if you use that , plus a straighting creme , it would take you half the time to straighten your hair... which in the long run , would make it look the best
