2 weeks ago I came across a cusion's profile on myspace whom I havent seen since we were little kids, I sent her a message saying I dont get on much but if she wants to add me then go ahead, today I see she wrote me back with this:
"Subject: so yah...
Body: I don't know what your last name is anymore so I can't add u.... :) "

I didnt realize it, but I did have the options set to not let anyone add me unless they know my last name or email addy, but since she didnt say anything about ME adding HER, plus that little smily face on the end, I get the impression shes nicely telling me to buzz off. But I'll admit, I do tend to read too much into things a lot , Thats why I'm posting this to see how others read it; how to you interpret her responce? Thanks

Oops, forgot to mention that I've gotten married since we last seen other - that is why she doesnt know my last name anymore.

I would say its a friendly reminder for more info. Send her your last name, and if she doesn't add you, then you'll know to leave her alone.

maybe she does want to add you but doesn't really know you any more. send her an update about yourself. be sure to put in there that you would like to catch up with her on-line some time. if you don't hear back take that as a sure sign of a blow off.

p.s. she would know you last name if you had invited her to the wedding. could be why she is a little upset. call a relative that you both know and get them to run interference for you.

assume the best....
let her know that you are excited to exchange information (email addy/phone number) so that you can catch up on all those years...just be nice about it and the worst that happens is she really doesn't want to get in touch, but at least you'll know you conducted yourself in a polite manner

Don't read anything into it. Send her your last name. The smile is obviously one of embarassment and the fact she knows she needs your last name to add you means she tried to.

Assume the best of intentions and send her your last name if you wish. You'll find out what she meant after that.

Put your last name on and tell her who you are. The rest is up to your cousin.

I wouldn't see it as blowing you off and would worry too much. Like the first person said. Respond and then see what happens.

She doesn't know what your new last name is, I recommend you tell her.
