Pretty, Cold, Stressful, Possible Bad Weather, Guests being delayed or unable to attend due to bad weather, Happy time of year, Smaller Guest List.
Does that work for you? I think getting married during Christmas (one of the most beautiful time of the year if you ask me) is nice, but a lot of people already have set traditions and places to be every year around Christmas time. So I would plan on a smaller guest list (or guest turn out), plus some people don't like to drive in snow (I have a few relatives like this), their could be a freak storm that prevents you and/or your guests from getting anywhere.
If you do decide on a Christmas Wedding I would pick a SINGLE location where you could have the ceremony and reception, that cuts down on driving around in bad weather. I would also make sure there is a hotel VERY close to the location, so in case there is a storm or something, the guest do not have very far to travel.
Good Luck!

My sister had a wedding on December 29th and there weren't any complications. It was an amazing wedding and the atmosphere was nice and people were in a generally cheery mood already due to the season. The only problems might arise in there being too much do to at once with making both christmas and wedding plans but we did everything ourselves and it wasn't a hassle.

A friend of mine got married a couple weeks before Christmas. While I wasn't able to attend unfortunately, everyone said it was gorgeous and festive. I think a Christmas wedding would be absolutely lovely. You can add lots of creative personal touches.

My brother & sis -inlaw was married Dec 13, not exactly a Christmas wedding but close. She didn't turn 18 until the 30th of Dec. They will be celebrating their 29th anniversary this year.
If using a church, most are already decorated for the season, which can save you money. It's a GREAT time of year!

I think a christmas wedding would be great. I am getting married Sept 8, 2007 and wish that I had convinced my husband to be to have a christmas wedding. You have alot more options when it comes to favors and decorations.

Avoid having your wedding close to national holidays at all costs...especially Christmas, New Years and Valentines Day. Vendors (locations and florists mostly) are going to charge you a rediculous amount of money during these times because their services are more in demand...they will also take advantage of you as soon as you mention 'wedding' or 'bridal'...
If you have your heart set on a Winter Wonderland theme around Christmas, you might want to look into hiring an experienced wedding planner who can negotiate cheaper contracts with your vendors...

I think it's not a good idea to have a wedding close to a holiday. People are busy in their own lives, and may have trouble traveling away from their homes.
It's nice to have a wedding at a neutral time, so everyone is really in the mood to celebrate with you!

Makes decorating REALLY easy if you are going to use a church. Most put them up for the Christmas season. Flowers will be easy too. Cheap cuz you don't necessarily have to get them from a florist. Poinsettias are great. Combine them with roses and carnations with a little evergreen and you've got a great bouquet. You can pick all the up from a grocery florist or wal-mart and do it yourself.
