I am a christian as well and i think that we are right in our beliefs, there is nothing in the bible that ever was proven to be false far from it the more they dig the more it is proven to be fact, the best psychics in the world are not nearly as good as the bible , the reason so many people are against Jesus and the Bible is simple they are lost as it says small and narrow is the gate that leads to life.

I believe they are right in their own belief, whatever that may be. The only gripe I have is; they try to convert you. That really is an insult, because what they are saying is; "your religion is wrong, my religion is the right one". They are showing disrespect for my religion when they do this. It's shows intolerance towards others. This is especially true of the bible thumpers that go door to door like the Jehovah's Witnesses. People who are Buddist's, Moslem or Jewish, have the right to their beliefs and have as good a chance to salvation as anyone in my book. As for the bible, and as long as you asked, I believe the bible was written by men, not God and therefore is subject to interpretation. We as humans all make mistakes, not intentionally, but someone who wrote words a couple a thousand years ago, may not have gotten his story straight. The various gospels that were intentionally left out of the bible, because they would have contradicted what was preached and accepted by the flock leads me to believe "the truth is out there" (X files), but we don't have all the answere yet. I was born Catholic, went to Catholic schools, but I believe in questioning everything. I don't accept on faith alone. Faith is just something the priests, rabbis, etc dreamed up to keep control of the masses. Without "faith", religions would fall apart as people started asking questions they were not supposed to ask. To me, religion has to be personal, not organized. I know good people, I'm sure you do also, who believe in things like Noah's ark, Jonah and the whale, parting of the Red sea, etc. These are fables, fairy stories. I find it pretty hard to digest. I'm not an Einstein, but even Einstein would have scoffed at the idea. Jesus was a prophet. That I accept. Even the Moslems accept this. When someone expresses a difference of belief and another person comes back with the reply, "because the bible says so", this to me is like the ostridge sticking his head in the sand to escape the unpleasant world around him. I accept some things in the bible, but not all. I reserve the right to work things out for myself. We were put on this earth with a brain. Use it!

I fully believe there is a Christianity.
I believe the message the Jesus tried to bring got perverted by Saul and later by Rome.
I believe those followers of Jesus who live by his words have the right of it as far their path to the Divine.
I am not against Jesus, I'm just not a follower of that faith. Now the Bible, it has been translated and rewritten far too many time to have it's original flavor.

I believe Christianity exists. I don't believe it's true.
There are many reasons not to believe.
For one example: Fradulent archeological claims. Many christians point as proof the works of Ron Wyatt, who is widely recognized as a fraud who can't back up his claims. I've also seen claims that Moses crossed the sea on an underwater land bridge. A websearch showed only christian websites making this claim. No science or archeological websites.

Right, the Bible talks about faith as being something that is unseen. It's kind of like love or integrity. You believe they are there and one day they will be proved.

If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. -John 15:19
Unbelievers hate us either because they hate God himself, hate Jesus himself, or just plain need someone to hate and kick around here!

What you must understand is that they are more people who support Christ than denounce him. Don't take the questions posed here as representative of the world.

Because there's no evidence that it's true. Just because it's in a book doesn't mean it happened.
