I have no hard evidence behind my claim but I am always in front of my lcd at home and i've noticed that all the "geeks" have massive acne. Anyone have any explanation or discussion?

IF sitting in front of the computer constantly causes acne, it's probably because the "sitter" is constantly touching their face, which transfers bacteria, which causes acne. If they have some sort of anticeptic wash and cotton at their station, and clean their face, on and off, while they're sitting there, I'll bet they wouldn't have as much acne...also, a pump bottle of waterless hand sanitizer, like Purell, is good....you should keep your hands clean....there's a ton of bacteria that collects on a keyboard!

Self proclaimed geek that sits in front of the comp all day, no correlation between the two unless I am just a special case, I actually have less than the average "non-geek". I rarely have a blemish except for certain times of the month. Acne is more in the genes than the activities someone preforms, unless rubbing butter or lard on you face is something they do.

I would say no. Stress is the main thing that causes acne. Also depression.

Hi, you are in my contacts since but im answering your question first time. I think your wife needs much more attention from your side. if you think so then go for for a holiday with her but only with her not with your laptop. at home she can also sit with u while you are working or surfing on net, i think net is an addiction, let her enjoy this addiction along with you. Some reasons for this could be that they are touching their face, or resting parts of their face on their hands, while they sit at the computer.

yeah,, not physical activity, nerds stress causes acne, dont drink water , they just sit kind of like im doing now..

Yes, have you ever noticed the way people rub their face when they study the computer screen? Having your hands on your face is one contributor.

They don;t get enough sunlight and hygiene seems to be a greeting
