The best resource that I have found is at http://talk.theknot.com Click on 'local boards' and find your area.

My first suggestion is to hire a wedding planner...they are going to be able to give you the complete run-down of everything available in your location and negotiate cheaper contract with vendors. Do some shopping around an dinterview a few of them...a lot offer a free 30-60 minute consultation to see if you want to move forward with their services.

If that isn't for you, then go to www.weddingchannel.com and register with them. You'll be able to find a ton of vendors in your local area with their vendor search service. The down-side to the website is that not all vendors advertise with all of these websites; so you might be missing out on a ton of great locations who just don't have the funds to spend.

Your city prolly has a bridal show. You can stop into any bridal boutique and they will know a number of them and likely how to contact them. Also talk to florists and caterers. (remember they do weddings all the time and have delivered to countless venues) Phone book and google are also great options.

I typed in wedding locations, Rapid City, SD and got this page. Hope it helps.

Not sure how it works there, but in australia we have a bridal expo every 6 months and they put out The Brides Diary" that has everything a bride could possibly need with all local contacts, ask your council. Or get your yellow pages and turn to "weddings"!!!

The absolute easiest way is to hire a wedding planner. They do all the work for you, but the downside is that you gotta pay a lot of money.
