I just checked the interchange manual and you would have to either change transmission or "hog's head" depending on whether manual or automatic. Either way, the point is that the small block V8 has a different bolt pattern than the 6 cylinder, so be sure to include that in your plans as well. And depending on the type of rearend the truck has under it as to whether it would hold up to the extra horsepower. If it is the Ford rearend, then you should be fine. If it is the Mazda rearend, then there is the possibility of eventually shelling it out if the truck is driven very hard very often. Also, you will have to take wiring into consideration. Depending on the existing wiring, most likely the ignition wiring will be different. And getting back to the transmission, since that is different, then the transmission crossmember would most likely have to be relocated. Plus the driveshaft would most likely have to be fe-fabricated. The best scenario: have a COMPLETE vehicle to get the EVERTHING necessary from. That would actually save money in the long run. As Elmo mentioned, there would be some necessary fabrication to make the swap. But then again, Elmo needs to stay on Sesame Street, because Elmo has done a lot of assuming. The ONLY thing that we can assume is that you are female by your screen name. There are 4 possibilities that exist (assuming that you are female). 1.You are going to have a significant other do the work. 2.You are going to have your dad do the work. 3. You are mechanically gifted enough to do the work yourself. 4. You would have to pay to have it done. If you are looking for a website, then the best thing to do would be to search "ford ranger V8 conversion" and look through the results. Good luck with your endeavor!

why? in general conversions are not worth the time effort, or money.
you have to beef up the suspension, may have to change motor mounts, probably have to fabricate linkage. insurance could go up.
what do you earn an hour? how much will the shop charge?
