If so, is it affordable, and do you have to be a member to use it? I live in Kansas, and I have heard so VERY bad things about daycare in my town. Just wanted to know something about theirs before I call and ask. Some places will push to have you join. Thanks.

I don't think you have to join but my best friend recently joined the Y and leaves her 4 month old son with them while she works out. She told me join but I don't have that kind of money, apparently you can apply for a hardship membership or something like that where they either give you a membership for a really low price or even free if you can qualify. Check into it though. She loved the daycare and said they were really nice. Good luck!

We use before and after care at our children's school in WA state. The cost is comparable to private daycare and the perks are better. By this, I mean that they have enrichment classes that the children can attend after school. Spanish, cooking, art and other craft classes are offered. I would call your local Y and see what they have to offer. The Y is also geared to lend financial aid to those who are in need. If this happens to be your case then I would definitely call them. My family has been Y members for 7 years. You don't have to be a member though to sign up for daycare.
