Africa means a place without cold or a place where coldness is absent it was named by expeditionary missions whom coming from cold weathered places noticed the hot climate and named it in Latin or Greek, I don´t recall right now the etymological roots but it is something like A-without, Frica-Cold. America was named after Americo Vespuccio who was the first man to draw a map of the continent and signed the map with his name and the Kings started referring to the continent by his name. The rest I don´t know
