YES!! It is more damaging to your scalp if you do bonding glue unless your put the glue on top of your hair instead of the scalp. but sewn in weaves are less damaging because you hair is braided under that and your hair grows and no damage to your scalp and you can apply oil to you scalp and not worry about your track slipping out. But it costs more. But its worth it.

I have been in the beauty industry for 16 years. I have applied and worn just about every method out there. I am currently wearing the Doctored Locks system. It is by far the best I have encountered. When bonding with glue there can be a huge amount of breakage ESPECIALLY if it's over directed on it's application. With a sewn weave the constant tension of the braid it's sewn to causes bald spots called Tension Alopecia. With the Doctored Locks or bead method there is no damage what so ever because there is NO glue and it looks very natural. It's the only method that I have been able to stand for longer than a month!! It is also very easy to work with.

Bonding glue is like tar when it dries. Its best to sew than to glue. With sewn hair you can where it at least 6 weeks. You will also need to shampoo and conditioner weekly and brush it with a wig brush. When using the glue it cause your pores to clog which cause damage to your scalp and hair. To remove the glue, use a glue remover cause if you just pull it out you might lose hair as well. Another way is hair fusion where it is applied to your strands and not your scalp. It will cost you a lot but it is worth. It last longer than bonding or sewing it can be perm, color, cut, etc. I'm a hair stylist. Hope this helped.

Either way, you're bound to lose hair.
I've heard horror stories about the glued-in tracks.
I experienced (for myself) hair-loss because a track was sewn-in too tightly!
When I finally had the track taken out, I had a small bald-spot in the back of my head.
I haven't been back to that particular beautician since that day.
And baby...please believe me...I reported her incompetent @ss to the State Board of Cosmetology in Alabama.
