What do you mean have a say in what you wear? You can bypass the lingerie or underwear/swimwear probably, but past that, no, you aren't going to be able to say "those pants are ugly, I'm not wearing them". That is called being a prima donna. You are a paid human clothes hanger. Your job is to show off the clothes in their best light, not yourself.

Unless you are in New York, Chicago, LA, or Miami good luck. There has been a big consolidation in modeling over the last few years. Have a couple of head shots, a couple of full body shots, and have them printed on a contact sheet with your name, age measurements, eye color and mail them to a couple of local agencies. Better yet walk them around. If you have the look they want, they'll call you. If they say you need to pay for school or shots with their photographer, scream SCAM and walk out. An ethical modeling agency will make their money getting you work not bilking you of your cash.

AH! Be aware! There are a LOT of cheaters in this business! The best you can do, to find the desinger address, and directly go to his/her office!
