Bible Review and Bible Archeology Review are good magazines that look for places mentioned in the Bible and set out to find them. Their goal is not to prove or disprove the Bible, but inadvertently have become Judaism and Christianity's best friend as they have found various cities long lost (but mentioned in the Bible) about where the Bible said they would be found. There has been found a stella that had the inscription on it referencing a great victory over "the House of David" that until then there were no secular references to King David and therefore assumed a myth. There have been numerous, notable finds that verified Biblical accuracy including the chief priest tomb that judged Christ, a spring under old Jerusalem mentioned in the Old Testament, a burial box with the inscription: James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus" and much much more.

They both are great reading!

That proves the credibility of a few verses, not the whole book.

"The declaration of independence was written by Thomas Jefferson and the world was created by a giant space lobster"

So, according to your logic because one statement in the above sentence is true the whole thing must be true...

Of course the bible has some historic accuracy, in the EXACT same way the Illiad and the Odyssey do.
