You tell the Iraqi government they have until, say, 6 months from now to get off their duffs and take over their own security.
We gradually recede into the background.
If the Iraqis stand up and do the job, good for them. If they don't, too bad.
It's that simple. It's what the Dims have been saying for quite some time, but because the Bush administration cannot admit a mistake, they cannot admit that something besides their "stand there and take it" strategy might possibly work.

I love all the military geniuses all coming out to hang there hat on that old GWB hook of "its a total failure"! OK, brainiacks, lets play a little game. Its called history! Much like why we keep score and records for baseball players. Why is the "babe" so lauded in baseball, 714 does that ring a bell. Wow, a reference point so we can compare with. Now lets look at the Iraq war. When have we ever or for that matter, when has any other country gone to war and established a somewhat democratic country in a year, no two, or three or five. Korea, Germany, Japan, Italy? hell we're still in all of those countries! So please explain where the hell you people come to the conclusion that we're failing! What would have been a good number for dead soldiers, 100, 1000, 10,000, or none. Why don't we hear about the thousands that have utilities now, that didn't five years ago. The people with running fresh water. The opened schools. No, we get all the horror, and you can't even see it. What has to happen in this country for everyone to wake up and see whats going on around us. Another terror attack, maybe then we can say, hey they're for real, they are actually mad at us! All you had to do was "do nothing". We have an all volunteer military. No one was asking any slack jaw to join and fight. Just fake a little support. But a couple of years back the Dems saw there chance. You bought it hook, line and sinker. Now what? Get out? Cut and Run? What does that say to every country in the world that hopes and prays we can support them in a chance to live freely. Hell no, not us. We don't want to be bothered with anything that might interfere with watching American Idol! Thats funny, american idle, thats what we are, idle. Kids, the really funny part is that this isn't going away. You got two choices, cut the pork out of your diet, and get a kufi cap and prayer rug or fight. You'd think we would have learned from VietNam. GWB's biggest mistake was to think we had the balls to go to war. We're our own worst enemy.

Why don't people sit back and let the military do what it has been trained to do then? This is an all volunteer military, so why do people insist on butting in on this? Cutting and running is not an option that I will ever agree with, and there are ways out of it, and I'm sure the pentagon is working it. The best thing you can do, is use the newspaper and the liberal media for lining bird cages. It's all its good for. Let the Military to what they are trained to do. I don't have the answers as I suspect nobody on here has either. We do not have the need to know, nor are we in the loop on military movements and plans. All these so called do gooders are doing is getting soldiers killed and emboldening the terrorist.

We "helped" create that? Where you been, sister. That mess is G. W. Bush's from the ground up. How many more billions do you want to pay for buildings with leaky sewage pipes? How many more American bodies do you want to bury to keep from admitting a mistake? How many more Iraqi bodies do you want to scrape off the streets in the name of "Iraqi Freedom"?
I dont care if you call it "cut and run" or an "intelligent exit strategy", we need to get our troops into safe places and keep them there. If that means lock 'em up in the green zone while the rest of Iraq burns, so be it. If that means getting them outside of Iraq entirely, that's fine too.
I didnt leave anything in that craphole.

The mismanagement of the whole affair by the bush-league has made it a very unlikely thing to EVER happen.
I hope we never get another champagne squadron type AWOL cretin in the whitehouse again.
