but i'm afriad that if i ask him out other people will decide for him or will get in the way...what should i do?

Take a chance and ask him! The worst that can happen is he'll say no. And the heck with the "other people"; he should be mature enough to make decisions himself.

look, you shouldn't be scared of what other people think. do what you want to do. follow your heart. forget everybody else. ask him out. jsut do it. and the worst that can happen is that he will say no. but don't let that get in the way, just do it, and see what happens. you will feel much better when you ask him, and hey! he might say yes! go for it!

as a guy, i know i'd rather have you ask than not. if you think he likes you, there's only one sure way to find out. ask him. if he is strong enough and doesn't bow to peer pressure, he'll make up his own mind. the worst he can say is "no". and that's not life ending. good luck!!!
