It is good to study all religions. It helps you to understand that God is not the judgmental punishing psychopath that we are told he is.
I'm not as sure as you are that everyone sins.
The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.
If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't perfect.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.
First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.
How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work?
It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.
One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.
Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.
If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.
If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.
How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.
Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.
If this is the case and we are perfect creations of a perfect God then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.
How likely is that????
Think about it.
The idea of sin is simple nonsense; a lie made up about God by religion.

I'm so very, very pleased that you got many wise & thoughtful answers here. Very encouraging! Just look at all the votes! If you choose to have a religion, the best thing you can do is study them ALL. I loved "World Religions" in college, & discovered if I had any "leanings" they were Eastern--more philosophical & not ABSOLUTE. But that was ME. You seem to already have a propensity for Christianity when you say you "repent" all your "sins." Also, that you believe EVERYONE sins. I do not believe this. However, I would never "judge" anyone by their religion. I wish some wouldn't do so because of my lack of it. I respect WHO people are. I'm very much interested in religions-- I can see how being religious brings comfort to many people. One of the answers troubled me, & I believe this is what has been said over & over in this forum. Martin S.."There is only one faith..."
Surely not! I hope that you do study them all, & that you find the one for YOU. & that you will never forget, that some of us simply don't need, or want any religion. Best of luck, & keep your good, open mind!

>I repent for all of my sins.
That is a good first step.
But, having repented for all of them (being sorry for all of them), then what can you do about them? Can you get rid of them? Can you do enough "good works" that they will "outweigh" the sins? Many religions are religions of "good works"; religions of "do" as pertains to dealing with sin.
Conversely, Christianity is a Faith of "done"; The work of Atonement was FINISHED on the Cross of Calvary. All we can do is "accept" it; accept the gift of Eternal Life.
===============================
>do you see anything wrong with
>pepole studying diffrent religons?
with people studying different religions?
Comparative religions?
We did something similar in Theology; not with "other religions"; but with various viewpoints in aspects of theology ... and studied the strengths and weaknesses of each of the view points.
Some, now, I think only look at the "strengths" of each of the viewpoints (or each of the religions). Not a good method!

I don't judge someone because of their religion. I do recognize values or rules set in place by those religions that I may or may not agree with. I think most religions have the basis of doing good things and believing in God, but how they get there is a different story. You must always research and reference the Bible for you to find the truth, not just what a "religion" is telling you is the truth. Don't just trust what anyone says, look it up. If its not in the Bible, its man's words, not God's. Good luck, God Bless you in your research.

I think all people should search for the religion that answers the most of their questions and speaks to their hearts. What is right for one might not be right for you but that does not make it universally wrong. Do not judge any until you have learned all there is to learn and then you may only judge the actions and not the person. Good luck in your spiritual journey.

No I do not think there is anything wrong with studying different religions. In fact, I believe it's a smart idea to do that! You won't be ignorant like a lot of people are when it comes to different religions and beliefs. Just remember that God when not separate everyone in heaven by religions! He won't be like..."Alright, Baptists over here, and Nazarenes over there..." Just as long as you know there is a God and you have faith, religion won't matter. God bless! Millie

While there is nothing intrinsically wrong with studying religions you should know that there is only one faith that can save a person and that is faith in Jesus Christ. God sent his Son to pay our sin debt and no amount of good works can make up for the fact that we have all broken God's laws. Other religions might have good rules for living a moral life here on earth but they don't lead to eternal life with God because they attempt to be justified in God's sight on their own terms and not God's terms.
It's like if you came before a judge for committing a crime and tried to tell him that he should let you off because of all of the other good things you did. The judge has to still find you guilty because he has sworn to uphold the law.
God has said that the penalty for sin is death but his gift to us is eternal life if we put our faith in Jesus. Here's a link for you to examine the gospel message on. http://contenderministries.org/romanroad.php

i dont judge a person on their religious preferance at all
i am a little intollerant of intollerance though lol
i do not like to see others being brought down because of their beliefs
and i do not like to see others hurt because someone thinks that because their belief system says something is wrong then that person is damned in any way

there is nothing wrong with gaining knoweldge about other religions. You should never judge some one by what they believe in, judge people by there actions. I am also looking for a good religion but as of now I am currently an atheist.

I am a Celtic Pagan. the only time that i have a problem with religion is when it is used to discriminate against someone else.
i study many religions and understand much about most of them.
not only do i study but when given the chance i participate in their rituals. i dance with native americans, sing with christians, drum with pagans and many other things that are spiritualy lifting for me. i find the experience of the spirituality of other cultures to be a very good thing to have.
