Many police are covered under umbrella immunity provisions.

The police officer needed a malicious reason to arrest you - given that you did not break the law. A good attorney will file an illegal arrest lawsuit (or maybe a class action lawsuit if this rogue officer has mistreated other people in the same way).

it is called false arrest, but in general police officers are exept from any liability if they had probable cause. Merely being found not guilty is not grounds for a law suit. Police officers arrest 1000's of people that have charges droped or are found not guilty.

As long as the officer had probable cause, you have no case.
And the fact that the DA also tried the case showed that they beleived they had a case.

So it is called a waste of time basicly.

You would have to prove that he had absolutely no grounds to arrest you , and I mean 0 % . If he had even the smallest reason to arrest you , then you have no case . But you can call a lawyer for free and see if they want to pursue a civil case against the officer.

If the officer had probable cause to arrest and charge you, then you are out of luck. Just because you were found not guilty doesn't me you didn't do it. Lots of people get off on technicalities.

Wow, how petty is this?! Just because you won doesn't mean you weren't guilty nor does it mean there wasn't evidence against you. It just wasn't proven 'beyond a reasonable doubt.'

Call a lawyer if it was truly unjust: ie you were arrested because you looked liked his/her ex...
